Jim Morrison - The personification of cool

I have always been a fan of The Doors. Their smooth organ rythms, bluesy leads, and simple but effective drum beats resonate with my musical choice. Most importantly however, the poetic lyrics and raspy voice of Jim Morrison always blow my mind.
After hearing Robert Harrison's podcast about the band and Jim Morrison in particular, I realized certain characteristics of the man that I hadn't noticed before. His slow, seemingly careless demeanor coupled with his incredible eloquence made him what he was. His mind, seemingly detached from the troubles of everyday life, and society in general, gave him this sense of 'cool-ness'.
Harrison's views on the concepts of hot and cool are extremely intriguing. He says that to be cool entails making oneself the object rather than the subject. Objectifying oneself, however counter-intuitive it may seem, is a way of achieving cool-ness. Jim Morrison objectified himself, and did so involuntarily, which is another essential element of being cool.
